OXFORD — The Oxford Literary Archive today announced a partnership to digitize over 10,000 out-of-print classical manuscripts and translations. The project aims to compile the largest digital database of classical literature in history, available to researchers and the public for free.
The project is funded by educational grants.
Project directors stated, 'Many of these manuscripts are locked in vault collections, accessible only to specialized academics. By digitizing them, we preserve these literary works and make them available to anyone with an internet connection.'
